Fields of Expertise
Shooting
Hit the ball with the top of your foot, also known as your laces. As you kick, lock your ankle to create power through your striking foot. After kicking the ball, follow through with your shooting leg in the direction you aimed the ball.
Dribbling
Dribbling boils down to stance, balance, footwork, and ball control. To dribble like a pro, maintain good posture on the field. You should also balance well on both feet and possess exceptional ball-handling abilities.
Passing
For a simple push pass, put your toe up, heel down, and lock your ankle. Making sure that you have a strong, locked ankle allows you to hit the ball with enough force to receive it back from the wall.
Defending
Their primary role is to deny and control the penetration of the other team (they don’t want the ball to get behind them). The role of the first defender is further broken down into four steps: approach, delay, control and tackle.
Attacking
Uses forward passes, through balls, and breakaways to quickly move the ball into scoring range. This style works best when your team is skilled and has excellent passing ability.
Controlling
Controlling the ball is the ability to influence and direct the ball.. It is considered the most important skill in soccer, and is applied to every aspect of the game, including dribbling, passing, finishing, and trapping the ball
